The brief

Atomic Learnings sends one business case study every Thursday and talks to the people behind it on the podcast. Newsletter sites usually look like a signup form with a logo. Leo wanted the issues to be the brand: each one with its own cover, readable on the page and easy to find years later.

He had six weeks before a sponsor deadline and a part-time producer who would add episodes and issues without help, so everything had to work from a collection, not a page builder.

What I did

Three legs, in the order we flew them.

Weeks 1–2

Covers that rotate

Every issue gets a cover, and the homepage rotates through the latest ones so it is a different page each week. We kept the type quiet and let the orange covers carry the brand.

Weeks 3–4

Episodes with transcripts

Episode pages hold the player, the notes and the full transcript, so listeners can search a conversation they half remember. The producer adds an episode in one form.

A page for readers who stay

Free, member and founding plans on one calm page, plus a proof section built from real reader counts instead of testimonials.

Outcome

The site launched two weeks before the sponsor deadline. Readers now find old issues through the library instead of replying to ask for them, and the membership page converts more visitors than the old signup form did.

Past results, not a promise.

“Every Thursday the homepage looks different, and readers tell me that's why they open it. Mika made the issue the brand, and my producer can run all of it herself.”
